ABOUT WRRA

The Water Resources Retirees' Association Inc is a social organisation for persons associated with the former water resources agencies of the Queensland Government and succeeding agencies that deal with water resources issues in Queensland.

The Association was formed in 1985 by a group of recently retired staff of the former Water Resources Commission. It is a body incorporated under state legislation. There are currently more than 200 members. New members are always welcome.

The objectives of the Association include the provision of

  • information on Association members and water industry developments, distributed three times a year via the Newsletter and on an ad hoc basis via emails and fliers,
  • social interaction at functions such as luncheons and meetings,
  • intellectual stimulous through visits to places of interest and addresses by current leaders in the water industry,
  • sporting engagement at events such as bowls and golf, and
  • practical assistance for members in situations of need, e.g. illness or incapacity.

The Constitution contains the formal rules of the Association.
